Metamorphoses and The Green Bird

Production History

Since its founding in 2007, Constellation has produced 27 shows ranging from Ovid’s Metamorphoses to The Arabian Nights to the ancient Sanskrit epic, The Ramayana. In 2013, the American Theatre Wing recognized Constellation for having “articulated a distinctive mission, cultivated an audience, and nurtured a community of artists in ways that strengthen the quality, diversity, and dynamism of American theatre.”

Each year, Constellation draws from fantasy, farce, and epic adventure to create three productions which transport DC audiences to imaginative worlds where the action is larger than life. Its 100-person black box venue brings every patron close to the action.

Constellation creates an exhilarating entertainment experience through visual spectacle, music and movement and a large, exuberant acting ensemble. Constellation was named a “rising star in the DC dramatic world” by The Washington Post and won the John Aniello Award for Outstanding Emerging Theatre from the Helen Hayes Awards in 2009.
