Synopsis
Figaro must outwit his master, the Count, in order to preserve the honor of his bride, Susanna, who the Count plans to bed on her wedding night. While nobles and servants plot and scheme, mistaken identity, sexual intrigue and class conflict prevail.
This epic farce inspired Mozart to write the opera and foreshadowed the French Revolution.

Steve Beall (Bartholo) returns to Constellation Theatre Company having made his debut in The Arabian Nights. Recent regional appearances include: School for Scandal, 1 Henry IV (The Folger Theatre); The Mollusc (Quotidian Theatre); Underground (Inkwell Theatre); Apocalyptic Butterflies, Arms and the Man (The Bay Theatre Company); Macbeth, Henry V, As You Like It, Front Page, Love’s Labors Lost, King Lear, Taming of the Shrew, Coriolanus (Chesapeake Shakespeare Theatre); Holy Ghosts (Spooky Action Theatre); Hamlet (Rep Stage); Spinning Into Butter (Journeymen Theatre); Beautiful Child (Didactic Theatre); Measure for Measure (MobTown Players); All My Sons, The Tempest (Spotlighters Theatre). He acts and does voice-overs in independent and industrial videos and films, as well as commercials and infomercials.

Joe Brack (Figaro) is very excited to be joining Constellation Theatre for his second show, after portraying Orestes in The Oresteia last season. Some of Joe’s favorite roles include: A in Crave (Failbetter Productions), Barn in Floating Rhoda… (Raleigh Ensemble Players), Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet (LiveWire Theatre), Richard Loeb in Never the Sinner (Actor’s Theatre of Washington), Patient/Voltaire in Marat/Sade (Forum Theatre), Havoc/DJ Dave in Peace (Washington Shakespeare Company), Colin in Playing from the Heart (Imagination Stage), David in The Santaland Diaries (City Artistic Partnerships). Joe also co-wrote Ctrl-Alt-Delete, an ever-evolving project, which received several accolades (www.bluemonday123.com/ctrl-alt-delete.htm). This spring Joe will be working with Constellation Theatre on their production of Clive Barker’s Crazyface.

Katy Carkuff (Suzanne) is glad to be back with Constellation after appearing in A Dream Play, The Arabian Nights, The Good Woman of Setzuan and The Oresteia during their inaugural 2007-2008 season. DC/Baltimore credits include: Doubt(Everyman Theatre); Marat/Sade (Forum Theatre); Proof (Firebelly Productions); Crave--u/s (Signature Theatre); Titus Andronicus--u/s (Shakespeare Theatre Company); Songs for a New World--u/s (Open Circle Theatre). Jonathon Church (Count Almaviva) is pleased to be making his debut with Constellation Theatre Company. Local credits include work at Longacre Lea, Forum Theatre, Solas Nua, Catalyst Theater Company, Rorschach Theatre, Folger Theatre, Washington Shakespeare Company, Theater Alliance, Source Theatre, and Cherry Red. Jonathon has twice been nominated for Helen Hayes awards, for Catalyst’s shkspr project and Longacre Lea’s Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead. He recently acted in training films for the NFL and the U.S. Army as part of his day job at WILL Interactive. Jonathon lives in Takoma Park, Maryland, with his Aussie bride, Fiona.

Misty Demory (Countess Almaviva) is pleased to return to Constellation Theatre Company after having appeared in productions of The Oresteia, The Arabian Nights, and A Dream Play. Other DC credits include: Playing From the Heart, Lost and Foundling (Imagination Stage); tempOdyssey (Studio Theatre 2ndStage); The Kathy and Mo Show (Phoenix Theatre DC); and Silent Heroes (Source Theatre). Misty is an associate artist with Constellation Theatre Company and will next play multiple roles in their production of Crazyface, followed by Lyle the Crocodile with Imagination Stage. Misty can currently be seen in commercials for Luray Caverns and you should keep an eye out for her portrayal of Staci Medlock on an America’s Most Wanted episode airing soon.

Lewis Freeman (Brid’Oison) is delighted to perform again with Constellation Theatre Company following an appearance in The Good Woman of Setzuan. Lew’s previous experience is primarily in opera and operetta. He has performed with the Washington National Opera, The In Series, and Washington Savoyards. Lew has sung Don Magnifico in Rossini’s La Cenerentola, Germont in Verdi’s La Traviata, the title roles in Sousa’s El Capitan and Donizetti’s Don Pasquale, Don Andrès in Offenbach’s La Périchole, and both Figaro and Bartolo in Rossini’s The Barber of Seville. Recent concert performances include Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Songs of Travel in Detmold, Germany and an art song recital with Vocal Soloists of Washington, a chamber music group for which he is artistic director and a founding performer.

Nanna Ingvarsson (Marceline) most recently portrayed Clytaemnestra in Constellation Theatre Company’s The Oresteia. Other credits include: Scenes from the Big Picture (Helen Hayes nomination – Ensemble, Solas Nua); The Skriker (Forum Theatre and Dance); Vampire Lesbians of Sodom (Actors Theater of Washington); Death and the King’s Horseman, Lady Chatterley’s Lover, Fool for Love, The Birthday Party, A Streetcar Named Desire, Dirty Linen, The Tempest, No Exit, Macbeth, and Hamlet (Washington Shakespeare Company); Man with Bags (Longacre Lea); The Beauty Queen of Leenane, The Hostage, and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (Keegan Theater); The Snow Queen (The Kennedy Center Theater for Young Audiences); and The Rocky Horror Show (Woolly Mammoth Theater Company—Helen Hayes Award). Nanna is a founding ensemble member of the Washington Shakespeare Company.

Ashley Ivey (Bazile) is thrilled to be joining Constellation Theatre Company again after appearing in Temptation, The Oresteia, The Good Woman of Setzuan, and A Dream Play and choreographing The Arabian Nights. Some of Ashley’s recent DC credits include: 1984, The Trial (Catalyst Theatre Company); Marat/Sade (Forum Theatre); Songs for a New World (Open Circle Theatre); Petpourri (In Series); Never the Sinner, The Ruffian on the Stair, The Vampire Lesbians of Sodom, SEXE! The Floorshow! (Ganymede Arts). Regional: Wilder, The Late Henry Moss, Thief River (Contemporary American Theatre Festival). Ashley attended Marymount Manhattan College as a BFA acting major.

Lee Liebeskind (Antonio) is thrilled to be making his debut with Constellation Theatre Company. Local credits include: Rough Magic, Dream Sailors (Rorschach Theatre); Antigone (Forum Theatre); Getting Out (Journeymen Theater Ensemble); Petri Dish Circus and Mad Breed (Active Cultures); Much Ado About Nothing (Amaryllis Theatre Company/Galludette University); Romeo and Juliet, the Oedipus Cycle, A Midsummer Nights Dream, Our Town (National Players). He is a founding member and company manager for The Inkwell.

Rachel Lee Poole (Fanchette) is thrilled to work with Constellation Theatre Company again, having last appeared in The Oresteia. She trained at the Studio Theatre Acting Conservatory and holds a B.A. in English Literature from Seton Hall University where she performed in productions including Uncle Vanya, The Last Night of Ballyhoo, and Macbeth. Most recently she portrayed Kate in the Source Festival's Tamed and Abigail in eXtreme eXchange's Apocalyptic Optimist. Local credits include: The Merchant of Venice (Vpstart Crow); Nutshell (DC Dollies and the Rocket Bitch Revue); Twelfth Night (Lean and Hungry Theatre Group); A Cry from Heaven, staged reading (Solas Nua); Malvika and Agnimitra, The Little Clay Cart, staged readings (Washington Shakespeare Company).

Joseph Thornhill (Cherubino) is honored to be returning to Constellation Theatre Company, having performed in The Oresteia and The Good Woman of Setzuan. Other credits include: All’s Well That Ends Well (Washington Shakespeare Company); How the Garcia Girls Lost Their Accents, u/s (Round House Theatre Bethesda); An O’Henry Christmas (Vpstart Crowe Productions); Alexander Who’s Not Not Not…Going to Move (Adventure Theatre); A Man of No Importance (Bay Theatre Company). Joseph has appeared in training/educational films for the National Labor Relations Board and the Department of Education. He can also be seen on YouTube in Imaginary Joe, and will be rejoining Constellation Theatre Company later this spring in Crazyface.

Allison Arkell Stockman (Director) is the Founding Artistic Director of Constellation Theatre Company and directed their 2007 productions of The Arabian Nights and A Dream Play at Source, and The Good Woman of Setzuan and The Oresteia in 2008. For the In Series, Allison has directed Combat and Redemption: An Opera Triptych, Fascinating Rhythm: The Roaring 20's, Paper Moon, and Maytime Cabaret. DC directing credits include Opera Theatre of Northern Virginia: Nightingale, The Hatchery: The Disappearance of Janey Jones; Phoenix Theatre DC: The Blue Room; and Georgetown Gilbert and Sullivan Society: Patience. Allison has also directed shows at Williamstown Theatre Festival, the Hangar Theatre, Duke University and New York City venues HERE, Expanded Arts, The Actors Studio, Center Stage NY and Soho Rep. Locally, Allison has been an Assistant Director at the Shakespeare Theatre Company, Folger Theatre, USA & Italy Alba Music Festival and Summer Opera Theatre Company. Allison is the recipient of a Drama League Directing Fellowship and a member of the Lincoln Center Theater Directors Lab. She earned her BA from Princeton and an MFA in Directing from Carnegie Mellon School of Drama. She would like to thank the designers, the cast and crew for their creativity and her family and friends for their ongoing support.
A.J. Guban (Scenic and Lighting Designer) is the resident designer at Constellation, having designed the set and lights for The Oresteia, The Good Woman of Setzuan, The Arabian Nights, and A Dream Play. He is also the Resident Lighting Designer for Opera Vivente and the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington D.C. He has designed for such companies as Opera Cleveland, Opera Theatre of Northern Virginia, The Maryland Opera Studio, The Kennedy Center, The Washington Ballet, Imagination Stage, SCENA Theatre, Washington Shakespeare Company, Didactic Theatre Company, The Huron Playhouse, The Smithsonian American Art Museum, and the National Postal Museum, among others. A.J. received his MFA in Lighting Design from the University of Maryland, College Park.
Yvette M. Ryan (Costume Designer) is thrilled to be returning to Constellation where she designed The Oresteia, The Good Woman of Setzuan and The Arabian Nights. Yvette’s designs have been onstage at Catholic University of America, Everyman Theatre, Forum Theatre, Imagination Stage, The In Series, Journeymen Theatre Ensemble, Rorschach Theatre, and The Studio Theatre. Yvette received her MFA in Costume Design from the University of Maryland, College Park.
