Allison Arkell Stockman

Founding Artistic Director

Allison won the Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Director of a Musical (Helen Production) in 2016 for her work on Avenue Q. She has directed 29 Constellation productions including The White Snake, Master and Margarita, The Caucasian Chalk Circle, The Wild Party, The Arabian Nights, Urinetown, Journey to the West, The Fire and The Rain, ABSOLUTELY! {perhaps}, The Love of the Nightingale, 36 Views, Gilgamesh, Taking Steps, Metamorphoses, The Ramayana, The Green Bird, Taking Steps, Women Beware Women, Three Sisters, A Flea in Her Ear, A Dream Play.  Allison has directed readings and workshops for Theater J and the Kennedy Center.  A Drama League Directing Fellow and a member of the Lincoln Center Theater Directors Lab, Allison holds an MFA in Directing from Carnegie Mellon School of Drama and a BA in Comparative Religion from Princeton.

A.J. Guban

Managing Director

A.J. has created 40 scenic designs and 38 lighting designs for Constellation.  He has received seven Helen Hayes Nominations: Outstanding Lighting Design for The Wild Party, Avenue Q, 36 Views; Outstanding Set Design for The Little Shop of Horrors, The Arabian Nights, Journey to the West, 36 Views. Favorite scenic and/or lighting design credits for the company include: Equus, Avenue Q, Metamorphoses, 36 Views, The Ramayana (2011), On The Razzle, The Good Woman of Setzuan, and The Arabian Nights.  As a freelance designer, he has designed for such companies as The Washington National Opera, Opera Cleveland, Opera Vivente, The Maryland Opera Studio, The Kennedy Center, Imagination Stage, The Smithsonian American Art Museum, and the National Postal Museum, among others.  He hs been the Lighting Director at the Washington National Opera for the past nine seasons and is a proud member of USA Local 829.  A.J. holds an MFA in Lighting Design from the University of Maryland, College Park.

Sarah Anne Sillers

Development Manager

Sarah Anne has been part of the Constellation family since 2011, when she joined as the company's first intern. She serves as the primary point of contact for patrons, donors, and subscribers; creates and publishes digital marketing content; supports company events; and assists the Artistic Director and Managing Director as needed. Sarah Anne is also a performer in the DC area; select local credits include Constellation Theatre Company: Urinetown; Keegan Theatre: American Idiot, Dogfight; Brave Spirits Theatre: Henri IV, Parts 1 & 2; WSC Avant Bard: Visible Language (2014 Helen Hayes Award Nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Musical); Lean & Hungry Theater: Othello, The Comedy of Errors; The In Series: The Cole Porter Project. Sarah Anne graduated from Princeton University in 2013 with a BA in English and a Certificate in Theatre.

Nick Martin

Artistic Associate

Nick made his directorial debut at Constellation with Melancholy Play: A Contemporary Farce (Helen Hayes Nomination for Outstanding Director of a Play). Recent local credits include Capital Fringe: Andromeda Breaks, FringePOP; Source Festival: Perfect Arrangement, Math, Limit: a Function of word and thought; Rorschach Theatre: Klecksography. Assistant credits include Constellation Theatre Company: The Skin of Our Teeth, Peter and the Starcatcher, Urinetown; Olney Theatre Center: Carmen: An Afro-Cuban Jazz Musical; Signature Theatre: Cabaret, Sunday in the Park with George, Beaches, Crossing. Nick graduated from the College of William & Mary with a BA in Theatre and Mathematics.

Julia Rabson Harris

Patron Services Manager

Julia is a graduate of American University and the National Theater Institute, Advanced Directing program. Recent directorial credits include Rorschach Theatre: Klecksography, 4208 Group: 10min Taste. Julia is also the founder of the AU student theatre troupe Open Dialogue and has directed their productions of 12 Angry Jurors and Bad Jews.

Katie Moshier

Production Stage Manager

Katie joined Constellation Theatre in 2021 after several years of freelance stage management work in the DC area. She was unseen around town at Signature Theatre (A Chorus Line, Grand Hotel, John, Mrs. Miller Does Her Thing, Titanic), Imagination Stage (Spy Academy, Mouse on the Move, Wake Up Brother Bear!, Cajas, Cajas, Cajas), The Academy for Classical Acting (Macbeth, As You Like It, Coriolanus, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Love's Labour's Lost, The Maid's Tragedy), Studio Theatre (Kings, Cry It Out, A Short Series of Disagreements…, No Sisters), Theatre J (Everything is Illuminated), Rorschach Theatre (Klecksography 2020, Reykjavik), Theatre Alliance, Washington Bach Consort, Duke Ellington School for the Arts, and others. Out of town she has worked at The Theater At Monmouth (Maine), Phoenix Theatre Company (Arizona), Dorset Theatre Festival (Vermont), Adirondack Theatre Festival (New York) and PICT Classic Theatre & the Kimmel Center (Pennsylvania). Katie holds a BFA in Stage Management from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
