CURRENT JOB OPENINGS:

Technical Director

Heading into our 19th season, Constellation Theatre Company (CTC) seeks a qualified Technical Director to support the company as we launch into our next season. This person will play a key role in our success. Position reports to the Production Manager.

 

Key Dates (FULL TIME SEASONAL): October 20, 2025 - May 22, 2026

 

Compensation:

  • Compensation is at an hourly rate of $27/hour for a full time seasonal position of approximately 30 weeks with possible overtime. Negotiable and commensurate with experience.

  • Constellation Theatre Company offers competitive benefits to its full-time employees including health and dental insurance, 13 federal holidays and flexible work schedules.

  • Hours are full-time (generally Monday – Friday during the day) with evening and weekend hours as required based on the production schedule.

                                                          

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take the Scenic Designers’ drawings and use as a plan for build;

  • Create build drawings of each scenic element;

  • Help Production Manager to cost out the design and ensure that the production remains in budget;

  • Purchase, schedule deliveries, and pick up materials for build as necessary;

  • Build all scenic elements of the production;

  • Manage the logistics of the scene shop as a multi-use space for build, paints, and rehearsals;

  • Meet regularly with Production Manager and other department heads during production;

  • Load in and out the scenery from multiple spaces including but not limited to the rehearsal space, scene shop, and theatre venue;

  • Strike the scenery and restore the theatre space to standard conditions;

  • Lead overhire crew during the load in and load out / strike calls;

  • Participate in staff activities and training;

  • Maintain facility tools, upgrades, inventories, and more;

  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Candidates for this position may possess:

  • A minimum of 3 years professional experience as a Technical Director; 

  • Thorough knowledge of most areas of theatrical production, carpentry, and theatrical scenery;

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and work within approved budget;

  • Thorough knowledge of power tool usage and maintenance;

  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in CAD programs and Microsoft Office Suite;

  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and gather/analyze information skillfully;

  • Ability to work well in group problem-solving situations;

  • Ability to work under pressure on multiple projects and work with people of varying experience levels;

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs. alone in some circumstances, but shared lift in others;

  • Comfortability working on ladders and at heights;

  • Strong communication, diplomatic and leadership skills;

  • Willingness to be flexible, collaborative, highly motivated, organized and responsible;

Development Manager

Constellation Theatre Company is seeking an enthusiastic and strategic fundraiser to become our Development Manager. This individual will work with marketing, patron services, the board of directors, and executive leadership to create, execute, and supervise initiatives and campaigns that will help secure Constellation’s financial stability.

Essential Duties: 

Strategic Planning  

  • Collaborate with the Artistic Director & Managing Director  

  • Lead fundraising campaigns from the original idea phase through final execution 

  • Develop institutional language, campaign verbiage, and show blurbs to be used in a wide array of company communications  

 

Fundraising  

  • Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with major donors in order to secure leadership gifts  

  • Research and cultivate donor prospects and funding opportunities  

  • Collaborate on writing and reporting on grants 

  • Coordinate mailings for direct appeals, season postcards, and brochures  

  • Design and run reports in CRM to target specific segments of donors and patrons 

  • Regularly report progress to Executive Leadership and the Board of Directors 

 

Engagement and Communications  

  • Organize all Constellation events, including opening nights, donor events, and board meetings 

  • Engage with community members at events, performances, and other gatherings 

  • Develop and maintain relationships with the Board of Directors 

  • Manage and coordinate work with outside services and vendors to meet deadlines of deliverables  

  • Oversee public relations 

  

The successful candidate will be:  

  • Excited and enthusiastic about theatre and the performing arts 

  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team 

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities 

  • A person with superior verbal and written communication skills 

  • An experienced professional with a proven track record in development and major gifts solicitation for a non-profit organization 

  • A strong manager who is a self-starter and a leader  

  • A creative, energetic individual who is committed to realizing the vision of Constellation Theatre Company 

  

Candidates for this position will possess:   

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in fundraising 

  • Analytical skills and the ability to offer creative solutions 

  • The ability to properly prepare for and meet deadlines 

  • Experience with CRM systems (PatronManager/Salesforce a plus) 

  • Fundamental computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 

  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination 

Job Type: Full Time

Start Date: ASAP

 

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000 annually

  • Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, 20 days of paid time off annually, 13 federal holidays off
